Read: In the last edition of Soft Labor, I excavated my teenage visual memory of the 1990s to dig up a few images: Kate Moss’s now-ubiquitous CK Jeans ad emblazoned across Houston Street; the Winter 2000 cover of Adbusters, featuring the very thin, blonde trend the magazine sought to critique. Well, folks, Paris fashion week recently closed, and New York Times critic Elizabeth Peton reported a slide backward — a big one! — to the heroin-chic ’90s.
